Baking is something that I thoroughly enjoy doing; I find it cathartic and obviously, there isn’t much that beats snacking on homemade cake with a big mug of tea now, is there? However, sometimes I can’t be bothered with the washing up and just want a quick cakey fix. That’s when my trusty mug cake recipe comes in handy! Perfect for a little January pick-me-up. Diet? What diet? Enjoy.
I‘ve always preferred sweet food over savoury. Whilst traditional British food can often leave a lot to be desired, our puddings have always managed to shine. From Victoria Sponges and Lemon Drizzle Cake to Jam Roly Poly and Queens Pudding, they are the perfect Autumnal comfort food for a sweet tooth like me (I have no idea if these particular dishes are actually native to Britain so don’t @ me – just relax and enjoy the recipe).
This brownie recipe is my all-time favourite bake and originally uses mint chocolate chips but I thought I’d be adventurous and adapt it to the Easter season by swapping them for Cadburys Creme Eggs and Mini Eggs. The end result was a pleasant, gooey surprise and these brownies are super easy to make; why not give them a go yourself this weekend?
Hey Little Cupcake! is somewhere that I stumbled upon by complete accident about 5 years ago. I’d been out for a lovely afternoon at MSI with Lisa from Hollybobbs blog and our respective families. We had enjoyed a nice meal and spotted a quaint little cupcake shop next door. Of course, we had to go and take a look.
I left with a gorgeous, gooey chocolate brownie and a lemon cupcake after being
greedy unable to chose just one. That day marked the beginning of an ongoing love affair between yours truly and Hey Little Cupcake!
