Just after Adam and I got married in 2016, we made pact to go on a ‘date night’ at least once a month. Despite our best intentions, we only managed to actually keep this little treat going for two whole months. Yay marriage!
The problems is, we both lack motivation and work long hours, meaning that by the time the weekend rolls around, we’re mentally and physically exhausted, opting to veg at home and recoup before another hectic week creeps in.

Manchester is nicknamed the Rainy City and with good reason. At the time of writing, it’s been raining for eight consecutive
years days. As a born and bred Northerner, I’m more that acclimatised to ‘that fine rain that soaks you through’ (cheers to Peter Kay for that one) and while there’s no denying that L.S Lowry’s paintings featuring dull, grey skies are rather accurate, that doesn’t stop me from enjoying all the things that our brilliant city has to offer.
A few weeks ago, I headed to Leeds for a very festive event hosted by CoLab and Moonpig. This ended with me drinking too many cocktails, accidentally flirting with Father Christmas and having a merry old time indeed. But more on that later…
Last month, Adam and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary. There’s no denying that it’s all been a bit of a rollercoaster since we said ‘I Do’ but on the whole, I think we’ve done alright so far. Year Two brought along a house move, plenty of ups and downs and pretty much everything in between, however, we developed a much stronger relationship as we began to really settle into married life.
