I told you all about Buckt subscription boxes a little while ago and at the end of December, our first box landed on the doormat. Buckt costs £12.50 a month (per person) and you can cancel at any time. Given that just one of our January activities would have cost us £50 to enjoy without this subscription, there is no denying that the service is excellent value for money.

Manchester is nicknamed the Rainy City and with good reason. At the time of writing, it’s been raining for eight consecutive years days. As a born and bred Northerner, I’m more that acclimatised to ‘that fine rain that soaks you through’ (cheers to Peter Kay for that one) and while there’s no denying that L.S Lowry’s paintings featuring dull, grey skies are rather accurate, that doesn’t stop me from enjoying all the things that our brilliant city has to offer.
